While the club welcomes new members, even people with little or no experience, we do expect them to have a reasonable level of fitness.

Occasionally someone will turn up who is not fit enough to complete a walk and this can be frustrating, both for the group and the individual. It can also be very demoralising for that person, and may put them off hill walking altogether.

We don’t want you to feel under pressure on your first walk, so we would ask that you build up your fitness before attending your first walk. If you would like to know more about ‘entry level’ walks please get in touch.
