Carn Liath/Creag an Dail Bheag

Day walk with the option of an overnight stay in Muir Cottage bunkhouse Inverey Friday 10th and Saturday 11th.

Start point: Invercauld Estate Keiloch car park (NO188914)
Note there is a £3 charge to park here, machines only take coins.
Distance from Stonehaven Square to start point: 54 miles.
Walk distance: 18.5 kms.
Estimated duration: 6 hours.
Ascent: 880 metres

The walk will start at the Keiloch carpark (£3 charge) proceed north east up the track approx 500m until a path branches off to the left, follow the path through the forest until it meets the track at NO177927. Head north on the track for approx 5kms before heading west to the summit of the former Corbett Carn Liath 862m. (The western summit Creag an Dail Bheag also marked 862m was found to be higher, Walkhighlands have now designated this as the Corbett.)

Should you wish to bag the Corbett continue on to the summit of Creag an Dail Bheag. From Carn Liath descend south down the shoulder before heading west across the saddle to Creag à Chait, from there head south west to rejoin the track. Head south down the track and pick one of the routes south-east back to the car park.
