Outline of planned walk:
This walk has been planned to incorporate lessons learnt from previous years. Starting at Lochearnhead the first days’ walk will be entirely along a disused railway track, we will camp quite close to the van so camping gear will be carried only for a short distance. We will return to the cars over the hills with the option of bagging one and even two Corbetts en-route.

Day 1
Walkers will rendezvous at 1000hrs in the Lochearnhead car park (NN593238) where toilet facilities are available; the only shop in the village is now closed permanently. Camping gear will be loaded on to a van which will be parked at Luib, shuttle car will bring van driver back to the start point.

Walkers will access the Rob Roy Way to the west of Lochearnhead village, following the Way along the disused railway line north up Glen Ogle for around 6kms to Glenogle Cottages just north of Lochan Lairig Cheile where they will swing westwards along another disused railway line to Luib where camping gear can be retrieved from the van.

A suitable campsite will be found nearby, probably to the south of Luib. Close to our expected campsite are the Luib Hotel and the Suie Hunting Lodge where meals should be available, this will be confirmed nearer to the date of the walk and if agreeable to walkers a communal evening meal may be arranged.

Day 2
Camping gear will be packed and placed back in the van. Walkers will retrace their steps for around 2kms to the viaduct at NN507274 from here they will follow a path south to Lochan an Eireannaich where they will head west to Glen Kendrum, walkers wishing to bag one or both of the Corbetts will branch off before descending into Glen Kendrum to pick up the track on the east side of Kendrum Burn following this back to Lochearnhead village. Van will be collected from Luib to reunite walkers with their camping gear before returning home.

The above should be treated only as an outline of the walk which will be fine tuned and finalised after a survey nearer to the time of the walk with details circulated on Spond.
