Pay for car parking so remember some change. There is a visitor centre & toilets near the car park. Many route options for the shorter winter days. There are plenty of well marked paths in Glen Tanar, on either side of the Water of Tanar. The Firmounth Road heads out towards Baudy Meg 488m & makes a circuit of the hill. In nearby grid square NO 5093 you may even spot “The Haunted Stag”. Keep your eyes peeled for carved stones dotted randomly around the estate. If the weather is favourable we could head for the dizzy heights of Clachan Yell at 626m, and return along the track that follows the Water of Tanar. Check out the graffiti in the Half Way House while you enjoy a wee cuppa.
